NY State Fair
Whether you are a newbie or a seasoned fairgoer, there is something for everyone at the NY state fair. The fair showcases numerous animals, hundreds of commercial attractions, and a host of big-name entertainers.
NY State Fair is held at the 375-acre Empire Expo Center on the shores of Onondaga Lake in Geddes, New York. Its mission is to promote and highlight the state’s agriculture, commerce, arts, and science to residents and visitors. It also provides educational opportunities, promotes community involvement in the fairgrounds and other events, and creates income for the state and its exhibitors. The fair’s equestrian competitions, trade and consumer shows, and community events attract more than 400,000 people each year. The Empire Theatre, a venue for local theatrical productions and meetings, features a 1925 Wurlitzer Co. 3 manual 11 rank theatre pipe organ, opus 1143.
The fair offers a wide variety of food vendors and beverages, including traditional fair fare such as fried foods. There are also over a dozen unique ethnic cuisines, such as Italian, Chinese, and Greek. In addition, the International Building offers a New York beer and wine pub and the Taste NY tent, where fairgoers can sample foods and drinks from throughout the state. The Agricultural Education Center and the Art & Home Building are also located in this building.
Where Will the NY State Fair Be Held?
The New York State Fair is the state’s biggest event and an end-of-summer tradition for people from all across New York. It features a variety of food, eye-opening exhibits, and exciting entertainment. The fair also features commercial attractions and scores of midway rides. This year, the fair features the Dinosaur Excursion, featuring more than 60 true-to-life-size dinosaurs. The fairgrounds is home to many popular attractions, including the Daniel Parrish Witter Agriculture Museum and Wegmans Art & Home Center. The New York State Fairgrounds is also a hub for concerts and other events throughout the year. The fairgrounds hosts a number of community events, consumer shows, and equestrian competitions.
The fair will be open Wednesday, August 23, to Labor Day, Monday, September 4. The midway is provided by Wade Shows and features many rides, games, and concession stands. In addition, the fairgrounds will have a Kiddie Midway for younger visitors. The fair will feature a Maple Day celebration and the Mobile Maple Classroom this year. Visitors can sample pure New York maple syrup and meet the fair’s mascot, Leafy. The fair will also celebrate its diversity with the addition of an Asian Village. In addition, the fair will host a talent contest for people of all ages.
