December Child Tax Credit Date

The Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury are still making the advance payments of the child tax credit. However, December’s payment is going to be the last one for the tax year. You’ll get the last $250 or $300, depending on your child’s age, for the last time in December. 

When to expect December child tax credit?

The child tax credit payments are direct deposited into qualifying parents’ bank accounts on the 15th of every month. December is not an exception to this, but the date you’ll receive the payment may not be the same day. Consider tens of millions of taxpayers get these payments; delays almost always occur.

Will I receive child tax credit payments in 2024?

If you’re currently enrolled in advance child tax credit payments, you’ll continue receiving them on your bank account the same way in 2024. The amount of the monthly payment is also going to be the same. 

The changes to the child tax credit were made earlier this year, and the taxpayers began receiving the payments in July. Though qualifying taxpayers only received the advanced payments for the second half of the tax year, it will be for the full tax year starting from January 1, 2024.
